Paola, originally from South Africa, started doing Pilates classes when studying dance in Pretoria 10 years ago. Pilates aided her recovery from a knee injury and also improved her overall performance as a dancer. She then went on to become a Pilates teacher while completing her degree in Dance Teaching. Paola moved to London in 2006. She wanted to further her knowledge as a Pilates Teacher and studied at the Training Centre for Pilates Excellence with Anne-Marie Zulkahari who she still continues to do class with. Her goal in teaching is to use Pilates in such a way that it promotes functional movement for everyday activities with the use of flow by encouraging self-awareness and understanding of their unique body. Paola has a particular interest in rehabilitation and is fascinated how Pilates can assist recovery.
Paola offers one on one and group sessions.
One on one: This is ideal for those new to Pilates, recovering from an injury or who want personal attention. Paola teaches with attention to detail which helps retrain muscle imbalances and incorrect or inefficient movement patterns.
Group: Paola teaches the group classes with the same attention to detail as in a one on one session. The exercises given are tailored to suit your needs and objectives. She encourages clients to listen to their bodies by developing an awareness of what their body can achieve within its own uniqueness.
